WizGene Selected for Deep Tech TIPS, Securing Approximately KRW 1.5 Billion in R&D Funding Over Three Years

SEOUL, Korea — WizGene, a next-generation mobility and robotics solutions company led by CEO Yoon Dong-guk, announced on the 6th that it has been selected for Deep Tech TIPS, a private investment-led technology startup support program operated by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

Recommended by TIPS operator Commax Ventures, the selected project is titled “Development of an Ultra-High-Performance, High-Reliability Axial Flux Motor and Intelligent AI-Based Prognostics and Health Management Control System.” Through this selection, WizGene will receive approximately KRW 1.5 billion in research and development funding over the next three years.

WizGene highlights its full internalization of core technologies as a key competitive advantage, ranging from Axial Flux Permanent Magnet motor design to bidirectional controllers and flight controllers. The company said this integrated technology base will help reduce reliance on imported components while enabling the rapid delivery of high-performance, high-reliability custom solutions optimized for each customer’s requirements.

The AI-based Prognostics and Health Management system to be developed through this project is expected to maximize the stability of systems such as drones, urban air mobility vehicles, and robots by diagnosing motor conditions in real time and predicting service life.

WizGene is participating in 2025 RoboWorld, held at KINTEX in Ilsan through the 8th, where it is unveiling a prototype robot joint actuator co-developed with Model Solution, a global prototyping company.

Through the exhibition, the company plans to demonstrate the market competitiveness of its AFPM motor technology.

“Being selected for Deep Tech TIPS is official recognition of our technological capabilities and growth potential,” said Yoon Dong-guk, CEO of WizGene. “We will accelerate the development of next-generation motor technology and grow into a company that leads the global mobility and robotics market.”

A representative from Commax Ventures said, “WizGene is a team that has built a strong technological moat through the complete internalization of its core technologies. We expect the company to drive disruptive innovation in the core components market for future industries, and we will continue to provide strong support for its successful scale-up.”
